Supporting Women and Girls to Heal, Thrive and Lead
At Scars of Resilience Community-Based Organization (SOR-CBO), we create safe spaces where women, adolescent girls, and youth can heal from adversity, strengthen emotional wellbeing, build resilience, and access opportunities for personal and social transformation. Through trauma-informed support, resilience education, mentorship, and empowerment programs, we help individuals transform life’s challenges into pathways of hope, leadership, and lasting change.
Who We Are
Transforming Scars into Stories of Resilience, Healing and Hope
Scars of Resilience Community-Based Organization (SOR-CBO) is a community-driven organization dedicated to empowering women, adolescent girls, and youth to overcome adversity and build fulfilling lives.
Founded in 2023 and based in Kwa Mangeli, Mavoko Sub-County, Kenya, our organization works at the intersection of healing, resilience, empowerment, and social transformation. We recognize that many individuals face challenges resulting from trauma, gender inequality, violence, poverty, and limited access to opportunities.
Through survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches, we create pathways for healing, personal growth, leadership development, and economic empowerment. We believe that every scar tells a story—not of defeat, but of courage, growth, resilience, and transformation.
